Dr Josh Liu

Dr. Josh X. Liu is an American dentist who was raised in Northern California. Dr. Josh has been treating the expatriate community since 2017, and has excelled at providing the high-quality dental care that his patients have come to expect. Through his drive to constantly learn and become better and the relationships he builds with his patients, you can rest assured you will be treated with the highest standards by him. He received both his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificates from the prestigious University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in California. He spent over four years in private practice before deciding to move to Shanghai to treat the expatiate community at one of the top clinics in China. 

Dr. Josh practices comprehensive dental care, but has special interests in implants, cosmetic dentistry (veneers, crowns, and Smile Transformations), and root canals. He has attended many dental conferences (ADA Convention, CDA Presents, UOP Alumni Week) and even some in Singapore (5 th Asia-Pacific Digital Dentistry Conference at Suntec). He has also been an annual participant in the NYU College of Dentistry Global Implantology Week since 2021.

His style of dentistry is molded by a mix of his personal experiences and beliefs. He truly is passionate about dentistry and strives to deliver it in a compassionate manner. He truly cares about his patients and finds ways to connect with them and make them feel at ease, treating each patient as if it was one of his own family members. He hopes not only to provide you with top quality dental care but that you also leave the dental chair more educated and informed about your oral health.

Dr. Josh was born in Shanghai, but moved to the United States when he was 3. He is familiar with growing up in a new country and his experiences have allowed him to connect with multiple cultures and families from all walks of life. As a father of two young boys, he also knows what it takes to treat families as a whole and has the patience to keep everyone happy.

While not in the clinic, Dr. Josh likes to stay active and enjoys the outdoors and traveling with his family. An avid golfer, he also loves sports in general and watching his favorite teams and major sporting events. He also routinely volunteers his free time to philanthropy and providing free dental care (Golf4Hearts, Give Kids a Smile, CDA Cares, Dentistry from the Heart) and has even done a dental mission trip to the Philippines.
